More than 5,000 Villanova students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families will come together on Saturday, Sept. 23, to perform service in partnership with local organizations and neighborhood agencies in celebration of the 12th annual St. Thomas of Villanova Day of Service. It is estimated that there are more than 60 million people in the United States living with some form of disability, yet, many healthcare providers lack the proper education and knowledge of how to communicate with and care for this vulnerable population. Together with the National League for Nursing’s Center for Excellence in the Care of Vulnerable Populations, Villanova College of Nursing faculty are launching “Advancing Care Excellence for Persons with Disabilities," a free program offered online that gives nurse educators the tools they need to teach nursing students proficiency in disability care. read more
